interviewing author Barbara Hill

This is Author Barbara Hill I had the pleasure Of interviewing her for my blog,  Q1. when did you decide you were going to write a book? A.  Many years after retirement, I began to type a few thoughts of a ‘scene’ floating around my head. From time to time, I’d add to it. From those thoughts, a real story began to evolve and I finally said to my husband, “I believe I could write a novel from these thoughts,” and he said, “well, do it.” It was only then, mid-2016, that I began to try to put thoughts into order, search out writing classes and online help. It was not published until August 2017. Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books? A. I decided on the title of my novel, “Only a Breeze,” only as I neared the finish of the first complete draft. Q. 3 what are you working on now for 20 18? A. My second novel has come much easier. Tentatively titled, “Altered Plans,” the first draft is in the hands of my editor now. Q 4. how long have you been writin

Interviewing Author Rick stepp-bolling

Q. 1when did you decide you were going to write a book?                   . Actually, I was writing a short story, but when I read it for my critique group, several people suggested I should make it into a book instead. A few months later, I had written my first novel. Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books                  A.   PATCH MAN was the label of the main character in the book. He (Var) uses magical patches to repair, heal, and open things, so it was logical to name the book after him. It is now the name of the series—PATCH MAN SERIES—as I have just finished the fifth book in the series. Q. 3 what are you working on now for 20 18?                  A. Interviewing Author of the EDO BLOOD Series.

*This picture represents one of my proudest moments (it went on my FB page).  My high school Creative Writing teacher, Patricia (Deery) Kurtz, still lives in KC and I found out she lives right around the corner from me.  When EDO BLOOD - Book I came out, I hand-delivered the first copy to her.  She's listed second, right under my Mom, on the Acknowledgements page and I signed her copy with this: "Patricia (sorry, you'll always be Miss Deery to me), Thank you so much. This book would not exist without your dedication and encouragement. You saw that whatever-it-is-that-writers- have in me and fanned the flame. I'm sure many of your students can cite examples of why you're a great teacher, but this is mine. Thank you so much! Gratefully, Don R. McCann, Jr." Q.1 when did you decide you were going to write a book?  A. Around 1992, I think.  That year, I was invited to a vampire role-playing game.  Part of that was to write a brief cha

Interviewing Children's author Harsha Rao Sheelam

Q.1 When did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I never pre-planned of being an author. I didn’t know I could be one until I received an e-mail from a publishing company and then I ran upon a thought of writing my own book. This happened in 2017 with my debut children’s book ‘Beautiful Inside and Out’. Q.2 How did you come up with the name of your books? A.‘Beautiful Inside and Out’ is something I have believed in from a very long time. It had to be the title of my first book. Funnily, ‘Good Exists in all that Exists’ was a title that I thought of when I was in my sleep. No sooner did I think of it, than I ran to my desk to rename my draft. ‘The House of Terry Atterberry’ was something more child-like. I wanted something that would excite the kids. Q. 3 What are you working on now for 20 18? A.I released ‘The House of Terry Atterberry’ at the beginning of 2018. Now, I’m planning on a children’s book named ‘Poppydown Pals’. Waiting for an approp
