Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read?
A. I’m an avid reader…ever since I was a small child. I was always asking my parents to read to me and learned how to read by 5 yrs old...this was back in 1956…I was almost a child prodigy!! I love self-help books, Christian romance books, general fiction (my favorite authors are Elin Hilderbrand, Kristin Hannah, and Jeffrey Archer). I will pretty much-read anything. I often wonder ‘what do people who don’t read do in their spare time’? Still pondering that…
Q2. when did you decide you were going to write a book?
A. Nobody was more surprised than me when writing a book came to my mind! It all started with a pink stress ball flying pig given out by my pastor that I named ‘Sir Pigglesworth’. I was posting pictures on FB of my pig with people I met on my travels and making little comments about his adventures. A bunch of my FB friends told me they and their kids couldn’t wait to see where Sir Pigglesworth would show up next. I can’t say I remember a time when it popped into my head to write a book, but gradually I was spending a LOT of time considering it. Finally, I decided to ‘just do it’. My first book was published in September 2014…the rest is history!
Q3. How did you come up with the name of your books?
A. Well…since I named my pig Sir Pigglesworth and took him all around on my vacations having fun adventures, I just used his name and the word ‘adventures’ and where he was in the world…easy peasy!!
Q4. What are you working on for 2019?
A. Right now I’m working on completing Book 9 – Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in Albuquerque – and getting it ready to be sent to my illustrator. I’ve also completed the outline for Book 10 – Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in London – and am planning another trip there to take pictures, check out things kids would do, etc. My books are for kids ages 6-9 and I’m always asked if any of my books are for younger kids. So I’m in the planning stages of writing a book for 2-4-year-olds. It would be about my 5-year-old pig as a younger piglet.
Q5. How long have you been writing?
A. I have been writing children’s books for almost 5 years. When I was writing my first book, I didn’t have the vision yet of where it would go or how it would plan out. But at the ending of the book, I decided to make it a trilogy…and so it continued on!
Q6. What advice would you give other authors?
A. Set goals for yourself. Don’t give up, keep moving forward even when it’s tough. Follow your own rules. You CAN DO IT!! Write, Write, Write!
Q7. where can people find you online?

Q8. Do you plan on making more books in the future?
A. Definitely!! I’m finishing up Book 9 – Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in Albuquerque. Book 10 – Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in London - is in progress and Book 11 – Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in Africa - is in my imagination still but I know some of the details I’ll be putting in the book…my character will be going on a safari! Further books are in the planning stages for younger kids.
Q9. How many books have you written?
A. So far – 9 books in the series with more in the works
