Q1. Tell me about your self?

A. I am married to a wonderful husband named Chris and we have a wonderful 13-year-old son.  I was born in a small village town in Illinois, but now I live in the Capitol of California. I have a Double BA in Psychology and Music from the University of Redlands.  I also have a Ph.D. in Child and Adolescent Development from Stanford University GSE. I love music and singing.  I am the co-author of two textbooks and the sole author of two picture books.  I have an edited textbook and another picture book that will be released in 2021. I have a cat named Pumpkin. I am currently working on another (my fourth) picture book and a middle-grade novel. Both of my alma maters have given me awards for my career and achievements.  My first picture book was a finalist in the 2019 American Fiction Awards.

Q2.What are your favorite books to read?

A. I love reading children' s books.  I do that for pleasure and for honing my craft.  I also like reading books for adults about leadership, self-help, travel, and some fiction.

Q3. When did you decide you were going to write a book?

A. When I was in graduate school at Stanford University, I realized how important diversity and representation were.  I decided then that more books should be published about Main Characters who are African American girls that are relatable for all.

Q4. How did you come up with the name of your book?

A. Most book names reflect a theme or storyline in the book.

Q5. What are you working on for 2021

A. For my academic writing, I am working on the 2nd edition of one of my textbooks.  I am also working on writing another picture book that is in the early stages.  As I mentioned previously, I have two books that will be published next year, a picture book and an edited textbook.

Q6. How long have you been writing?

A. I used to write poetry starting in Junior High or (Middle School).  I have never published any of it yet, but I guess that was the beginning of my writing career.

Q7.What advice would you give other authors?

A. I think all authors should keep learning their craft and improving their work. Traditional publishing takes time and perseverance. There may be some luck involved as well. Self-publishing is an option, but that is quite expensive and takes much marketing know-how. Whatever manner of publishing, keep improving your craft.

Q8. Where can people find you online?

A. My website is the best place to find me, www.pinkpearlwriting.com . There you can find more information and educational materials for teachers and my blog and contact page.  I have a Facebook author page under facebook/pinkpearlwriting . I have a twitter account that I started this month, September.  It is @KimberlyBiddle4 . If you really want to know more, I have a pinterest and a instagram page.

Q9. What is your favorite coffee drink?

A. I don't drink coffee. I drink tea, mostly herbal and green tea.

Q10. What is your favorite coffee shop?

A. I don't really have one.

Q11. Do you plan on making a new book in the future?

A. Yes. I mentioned above that I have two new books that will be published in 2021.  I am also writing some more books right now.

Q12. How many books have you written?

A. I have co-authored two textbooks - Early Childhood Education: Becoming a Professional and Careers in Child and Adolescent Development. I have an edited textbook that will publish next year (2021) - Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum.
I have two picture books published -LaDonna Plays Hoops and LaDonna's Easter in Paris. I have another picture book that will release in 2021 (next year) -Darlene's Double Dutch Dreams.

Q13. Did you go to college to be a writer? I mentioned my degrees previously. I also

A. mentioned that it was in graduate school that I wanted to write fiction. I guess my academic writing started then, too.  However, my degree is not in English or Creative Writing.  One good thing about my BA in music is that I write songs to accompany my picture books.  You can hear the songs on my website.

Thank you so much for this interview and a chance to communicate with people who love books!!!!

Interviewing Author Grahame Peace Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read? A. I’m 61 years of age and was born in the Northern Textile Town of Huddersfield in England where I still live with my partner. I like many genres of books, but I don’t like anything too dark; before I retired I worked for many years in Mental Health Services in the UK, so I had more than my fill of ‘life’, and the ups and downs it can throw at people. So, I tend to go for books that offer escapism, I also like history, autobiographies, and biographies. At the moment I’m enjoying the fictional book ‘The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates. I say I’m retired, but I now consider myself to be an author, I treat it as a full-time job, working on my books for several hours most days. Q2. when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I retired from my job with the National Health Service in the UK nearly five years ago now; I’d already started my first book by th

Interview Author Gabriella Messina Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read?  A.  I’ve found that, as I continue to grow as a writer, I’ve grown more selective as a reader. I tend to choose books from the same genres that I write… mysteries, historical fiction, fantasy… and I gravitate back to older books more than newer. I like stories that move at a good, steady pace, almost like a well-made film; that isn’t preachy, but still, give you something to think about; and that have well-developed characters that act like real people.  Q2.when did you decide you were going to write a book? I’d been  A.writing screenplays since the early 2000s and I’d gotten some notice for them, but getting into that industry is notoriously difficult and expensive. Then I learned about the rise of indie publishing, KDP and such, and decided to try adapting the stories into novels. Q3. How did you come up with the name of your books?  A. Poetry, songs,

Interviewing Author Shannon Taylor Vannatter Q1. Tell us about yourself. What are your favorite books to read? A. I started reading clean romance when I was fourteen. I married my high school sweetheart and worked as a hairdresser for ten years. Once insurance became important, I went to work at a bank and the corporate offices of a large fragrance company. After our son was born, I became a stay at home mom. I love reading Christian Contemporary Romance. Q2. Where did the inspiration to write come from? A. There came a time when I couldn’t find anything clean anymore when I was in my early thirties, so I decided to write what I wanted to read. My characters kept praying and talking to God and I realized I was writing Christian romance instead of merely clean. It took me nine and a half years to get published. Q3. How did you come up with the titles of your books? A. I start with a working title that fits the theme of the book. Sometimes, I change it as
