Interviewing Author Collette Dahl Lorentzen Q1.when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I decided to write a book many years after I created a colored pencil drawing of a dog many years ago.  About 3 years ago, I quite by accident talked with a woman at the hospital I work at. She told me she had plans of writing a children's book and was looking for an illustrator.  Being a multi-media fine artist, I, of course, showed her samples of some of my work.  After showing her my drawing of the dog, Wilber, which I had named when I did the drawing, I thought, why was I not doing something myself.  I always wanted to use the drawing in a cartoon strip, but could never think of anything funny.  Making a children's book was the perfect answer for me. Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books  A. I came up with the name of my books after thinking about what I was going to do with the drawing.  I decided that I would use Wilber to teach mor
