interviewing author Myron Campbell  Q1.when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I decided after a couple of nights of telling these stories to my sons before bed. My wife overheard me talking to them and suggested I record myself so after talking for 15 minutes past their bedtime one night. It turned into the first 3 or 4 pages of my first book.  Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books  A. The Adventures of Melvin Walker came about funny actually. He started out as a monkey in the zoo. However, I felt it wasn’t right to try and compete with Curious George. So I based Melvin off of me growing up in NYC and my sons growing up here in VA.  Q. 3 what are you working on now for 20 18? A. I just finished book #3 Melvin Learns How To Code. A: I had always wanted to volunteer in search and rescue, and had done some communications for a SAR team in Seattle. (I’m also a ham radio operator.) My wife and I had previously owned a Great Dane, which would not be a good search dog unless your couch went missing. By sheer chance, I ended up with a golden retriever puppy named Sierra who tested well and we got started. Question 2 How do search dogs work? A: Search dogs work in a couple of ways. Sometimes we give the dog a scent article from the missing person and they follow their path. This works best in populated areas where there are many other human scents around. These dogs work on-lead with the handler right behind. Dogs trained this way are called “trailing dogs.” Out in the woods, we generally don’t give a scent article, and the dogs search for any human...

It was a part of my bucket list, but finally in 2014, decided to go about to actually doing it.  Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books  A. The first book ‘Shreya’s Eighth’ was easy as it is about Shreya’s 8th birthday...but to leave the children guessing decided to skip the word ‘birthday’ from it. Similarly, the second is named Samira’s SIT venture which is about the SIT- the Stay Indoor Tournament. The book is set during the rainy season so the name seemed appropriate. Interviewing Author Samantha Ball  Q.1 when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I have always had a huge imagination and often makeup bedtime stories for my children. I decided to self-publish one of my books in June and it has done well so far. Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books? A. The Little Dinosaur title was easy to come up with, as it follows a little dinosaur on his search for a warm and cozy nest. Q. 3 what are you working on now for 2018? I was more than familiar with boys throughout my life and began thinking about all of the wonderful possibilities having a little girl could bring. As her pregnancy progressed and we found out that we were going to have a girl, I began to look for fun and upbeat books about the father and Daughter relationship. Interviewing author Michael Joffroy Q.1 when did you decide you were going to write a book? That's a great question I have had or been responsible for two pugs in my life and have always thought that these types of dogs are hilarious and I like dragons and the magic behind them. So I figured why not write and illustrate a book about both of them. Q.2 how did you come up with the name of your books? To be frank my first book was birthed in therapy it's a therapeutic book for children that are going through abuse so the name came naturally.
