Interviewing author Kimberly Miller

Q1. Tell me about yourself -what are your favorite books to read?

A. I love reading books with strong characters and solid dialogue. Charles Martin is one of my favorite authors

Q2. When did you decide you were going to write a book?

A. I’ve been writing for years. My first novel, Picking Daisy, was actually written first as a screenplay but I wanted to get deeper into the psyche of the characters, so I turned it into a novel and have been writing novels since then (I still write some screenplays too)

Q3.How did you come up with the name of your books?

A. I am usually concerned about there being other books with the same title, so I like to add a character name as that distinguishes my title from others

Q4.What are you working on for 2019?

A. I have several projects in the works currently, all clean romance novels

Q5. How long have you been writing?

A. I realized my love of stories in junior high and started with short stories

Q6.What advice would you give other authors?

A. Keep writing, read a lot, and don’t stay down when you get kicked by rejection. Be creative in how you get your writing out there, enter contests, and join writer’s groups or workshops so that you’re constantly honing your craft. No one knows it all, so keep learning and growing.

Q7. Where can people find you online?

Q8.Do you plan on making more books in the future?

A. I imagine I’ll always be writing

Q9. How many books have you written?

A. I have written six total, though only two are published currently, and a novella is under contract. The other four are at various stages of being ready to go, and two of them are with my agent now as he works to find a publisher for them. The other two are almost ready to go.

Q10. Did you go to college to be a writer?

A. I have a Bachelor of Science in Writing, a Master of Arts in Writing and a Ph.D. in Composition. I always hoped I’d be published but also never really believed it would happen. I teach college film and writing classes now as my full-time job, but writing is definitely my passion, and likely always will be.

Independent book review: Froggy Learns to Swim by Jonathan Landon and Illustrated by Frank Remkiewicz  The Froggy series has always been my favorite book ever since I was little too. My favorite book from the series is Froggy Bakes a Cake when my sisters and I were little we enjoyed reading this to our mom.  The Froggy book series is great for ages 2-4 years. This is a great book to add to your children's summer reading list. When I was a kindergarten teacher aide I enjoyed reading to the child This is a book that I would love  to read to them. The author did an amazing job on this book;  The illustrations in this book are so cute and exquisite.  This is a book I had on my bookshelf that love and thought I would do an independent review on it. ALL OPINIONS ARE MINE.  Make sure look or check if your local library carries the Froggy series
