Interviewing Author  Melissa Little

Q1. Tell us about yourself. What are your favorite books to read?

A. I don’t typically re-read books, but my favorite books of all time are Cry, the Beloved Country; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Fiddler’s Green; Les Miserables; and The Help. I will admit to re-reading a few of those. I also read lots and lots of middle-grade because I write for a middle-grade review company and write in that industry.

Q2. Where did the inspiration to write come from?

A. I’ve been writing “books” since the age of 9. I decided to write The Book of Secrets, my book that releases this August, around early 2016.

Q3. How did you come up with the titles of your books?

A. I stole it from The Book of Secrets by Deepak Chopra and I feel no shame.

Q4. Anything you're currently working in 2019?

A.  My very first book releases August 15th and that’s kept me busy all year.

Q5. How long have you been writing?

A.  I began writing on March 1, 2006.

Q6. What advice would you like to give to other authors?

A. My advice is read, read, and read because that’s actually the best (dare I say only) way to learn to write.

Q7. Where can we connect with you online?

A. I don’t like Facebook, so the best place for people to contact me is on Instagram @mllittleauthor, or my blog, mllittleauthor.blogspot.com

Q8. Do you plan on writing any more books in the future?

A. The Book of Secrets is book one in a series of three. The other two need editing but I would love to be able to publish them someday.

Q9.How many books have you written?

A. That’s actually a countless number because as a kid I spit out “books” like I was a vending machine and I still have them all in binders. If you mean published books, I only have one.

Q10.Did you go to college to be a writer?

A. No, I’m almost done with my bachelor’s in Biblical Studies and I plan to get a Master’s in theology.
