New Interview with Author Nita Marie Clark

New Interview with Author Nita Marie Clark

Q1. Tell me about your self what are your favorite books to read?

A. At 82 years young I have been many things, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, entrepreneur, and as of three years ago I am now a published author of children's books. I have found becoming an author a challenging, exciting, and rewarding change. With my eyesight failing, I would like to add that I could not do this alone, without my daughter Kathy's assistance none of this would possible.
My favorite books to read are historical fiction.

Q2. When did you decide you where going to write a book?

A. Three years ago at the encouragement of one of my great-granddaughters.

Q3. How did you come up with name of your books?
A.  While writing the context of the book, finding the most descriptive title.

Q4. What are you working on for 2019?

A. Another installment in The Secrets of Zen Castle Series, another picture book / early reader, and perhaps . . .

Q5. How long have you been writing?

A. While I have been writing catchy phrases, and rhymes for the small business I successfully operated for more than thirty years, as authors go, I'm pretty new to the business.

Q6. What advice would you give other authors?

A. Because I do not feel that I am a experienced enough author to be giving advice to others, all I can suggest is to write what you enjoy and present it in a unique manner. When comes to success I am not judging my success on sales but on these four things I call the “RE test”:
Read - Does the cover encourage someone to Read the book.
Reaction - Does the reader have the Reaction to the passages that you hoped.
Response - When they finish reading the book what is their Response to lesson or the moral in the story.
Remember - Will they Remember the message of the book in years to come.
I would like to add; As someone starting a new chapter of their life by becoming an author at an advanced age, I would like to offer a word of encouragement to other seniors dreaming of becoming an author not to hesitate and to reach for those stars.

Q7. where can people find you online?

A. My books are available through most major online book retailers and on my website:

Q8.  Do you plan on making more books in the future?

A. As we are working on the third installment of The Secrets of Zen Castle series, we plan on releasing a fourth book for the series in the near future, possibly another middle-grade book, and as for picture books there probably will be more when the inspiration hits.
Q9.  How many books have you written?

A.  I currently have two books for the middle-grade series: The Secrets of Zen Castle Series
     The Royal Search for Shenanigans
A Spell To Divide A Kingdom
Three picture books for all ages:
Why Dandelions Grow (available in two versions)
    I Hate Numbers!
There A No Fireflies In Montana!

Q10. Did you go to college to be a writer?

A. One thing about life I know as an alumna of the School Of Life Experiences and the School of Hard Knocks, there is always new experiences to share and new knowledge to obtain.
