Interview with Karin Thompson

Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read?

A. My name is Karin Thompson I was born in Auckland, New Zealand but have lived most of my younger life in Johannesburg South Africa.  In 2007 I moved back to New Zealand and then in 2013 I moved to Sydney, Australia, where I am now currently staying. I have two married children and two beautiful grand babies. Both my boys live with us in Sydney. I am married to my husband James Thompson for 43 years now.
My favorite book is of course the Bible, I also love anything Joyce Meyer writes I’m a big fan of hers. I have recently finished Christine Caine’ book Unexpected. I also read John Maxwell. I am a avert reader.

Q2. When did you decide you were going to write a book?

A. I knew there was something God wanted me to do but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. I was attending a conference “Finding your passion” and the instructor said imagine you are looking down at your 90 year old self and you say to her “wow you are a great…” then out of my spirit the word author popped up. I heard God say (not audibility, but in my heart) I want you to write a book about your life’s journey.

Q3. How did you come up with the name of your book?

A. I did a lot of praying and seeking God and I felt that it was what He wanted me to call it – My journey to enjoying my life.

Q4. What are you working on in 2019?

A. I am busy with my second book – Encouragement for the weary soul. It’s chapters of encouragement about different subjects, a prayer, some confessions and scripture to help you.

Q5. How long have you been writing?

A. I started in 2018 and published my first book in June 2019, so just over a year now.

Q6. What advice would you give other authors?

A. Don’t over think the process, just get started and the book will create a world of its own. I had no clue about writing or publishing a book, seriously not a clue. But as I started to write, God led me to people that could help me. One did my book cover; another was an editor – I have never met an editor before in my life. I met a lady who was an expert in Word, and she helped me with the format. The journey just happened. But I just started first.

Q7. Where can people find you online?
A. I don’t have a website yet. But I have a Facebook page. @karinthompson.author
Instagram @karin.thompson_author
Email: karinthompson.author@gmail.com

Q8. Do you plan on making more books in the future?

A. Yes, I do, I plan to become a full-time author and speaker. Now I am still working my day job and writing on the weekend, but my goals is to do a book a year.

Q9. How many books have you written?

A. Only one so far and busy with the next one.

Q10. Did you go to college to be a writer?

A. No, I didn’t I just put pen to paper and wrote – well typed on Word really. Writing comes easy for me. I have had no former training, I write, and my editor fixes the spelling and punctuation mistakes.

Now my book is available on Amazon USA & Australia, Koorong – Australia biggest Christian Bookshops, Book Depository & Fishpond. I currently arranging for it to be sold in Hillsong resource Centres too.

Interviewing Author Grahame Peace Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read? A. I’m 61 years of age and was born in the Northern Textile Town of Huddersfield in England where I still live with my partner. I like many genres of books, but I don’t like anything too dark; before I retired I worked for many years in Mental Health Services in the UK, so I had more than my fill of ‘life’, and the ups and downs it can throw at people. So, I tend to go for books that offer escapism, I also like history, autobiographies, and biographies. At the moment I’m enjoying the fictional book ‘The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates. I say I’m retired, but I now consider myself to be an author, I treat it as a full-time job, working on my books for several hours most days. Q2. when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I retired from my job with the National Health Service in the UK nearly five years ago now; I’d already started my first book by th

Interview Author Gabriella Messina Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read?  A.  I’ve found that, as I continue to grow as a writer, I’ve grown more selective as a reader. I tend to choose books from the same genres that I write… mysteries, historical fiction, fantasy… and I gravitate back to older books more than newer. I like stories that move at a good, steady pace, almost like a well-made film; that isn’t preachy, but still, give you something to think about; and that have well-developed characters that act like real people.  Q2.when did you decide you were going to write a book? I’d been  A.writing screenplays since the early 2000s and I’d gotten some notice for them, but getting into that industry is notoriously difficult and expensive. Then I learned about the rise of indie publishing, KDP and such, and decided to try adapting the stories into novels. Q3. How did you come up with the name of your books?  A. Poetry, songs,
