Interviewing Author Jacky

1. Tell me about your self?

My name is J. B. Zuker, I was born in Guatemala, I have lived in many countries, currently living in Israel. Growing up I always loved reading and getting lost inside stories. I love to hike, photography, reading, and meditating once in a while. I have a daughter that loves to listen to me read her books so I decided it was time to write one.
2.What are your favorite books to read?
Dr. Seuss, Harry Potter, lemony snicket's a series of unfortunate events, Daniel H. Pink's books, among others.

3. When did you decide you were going to write a book?
Such a simple question brings so many thoughts and to try to answer this as simply as possible, I wanted for a long time to write the stories of Tony The Pickle. They started a while back when I used to babysit five children then became six and then seven. They loved listening to Tony's wacky adventures and every night I would babysit I would have to come up with more and more stories, plots, characters, and such. I decided it was time to write the stories down when I saw my daughter, Olivia, asking for me to read more books and it just hit a switch inside of me, I had to do it. So I started writing, editing, writing some more, and Tony's story turned into a book.

4. How did you come up with the name of your book?

It is hard to pinpoint, as I already knew the character so well I knew he had to be part of the Title and his adventures. So with a bit of mix and match of words, I finally agreed with myself to call it 'The Wacky Adventures of Tony The Pickle'.

5. What are you working on for 2021
Book #2 and #3, Spoiler alert!!!! If you have not read it yet I won't spoil it 100%, but at the end of the first book Tony decides to go on another adventure and this is basically the story I am working on for book 2, and I got so excited writing it that I already planned book 3 and a possible 4.

6. How long have you been writing?
If you count when I was young, I use to write poetry and a few short stories but nothing ever came to light. I started writing professionally in January 2020, it's been a learning curve. I have definitely re-learned grammar ad spelling and punctuation.

7.What advice would you give other authors?
Do it. Just do it. Don't let the doubts in your head stop you. Cause we all know we have those.
Also, join an author club or group to find the right help and the right tools. I know that this helped me a lot to be where I am today.

8. Where can people find you online?

9. What is your favorite coffee drink?
Cappuccino

10. What is your favorite coffee shop?
Nahalat Binyamin Cafe

11. Do you plan on making a new book in the future?
Yup, a few. The continuation of the wacky adventures of Tony in books two and three.

12. How many books have you written?
One so far.

13. Did you go to college to be a writer?
No, I went to University to be a Finance and Marketing professional, which I currently still am, and also write as my side gig.
