Interviewing Author Joy Avery Melville ~ Author

1. Tell me about yourself?
A: That would be like writing a book all its own, Angelika, lol. I have a short bio, I think I’ll slip in here along with a bit more personal information.
It’s always been my heart’s desire is to be the author God has called me to be by sharing Him with readers in such a way they long to have a deeply committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord.
Fully intending to write Historical Romance—had in fact— I had no plans to deviate from that. God had something else in mind for that ‘call’ He’d made on my life back in 1967. A mere eighth-grader at the time, I didn’t have a clue about the topics I’d be drawn to write about.
Surrendering to the genre God placed on my heart has given me new insight into the hearts and lives of those who too often hurt in silence.
The settings of my books are near where I live in Schoolcraft, Michigan with her husband of 46 + years and our 2-year old Yorkie, Is-A-Bella Bindi, (Is-a-beautiful little girl) who thinks she’s a much larger breed with tomboy tendencies.
I absolutely love to hear from readers and will respond!

2.What are your favorite books to read?
A; Christian Fiction – I like some Romance, Romantic Suspense, Historical Romance, and some Women’s Fiction. I even like SOME Amish Fiction if it’s written well. I read Dr. David Jeremiah’s non-fiction, and I’m a fan of Charles Swindoll's non-fiction.

3. When did you decide you were going to write a book?
A: I had puttered around with some short stories from the time I was in 8th grade, but my first full-length novel was written when my kids were toddlers. So, 1978/79

4. How did you come up with the name of your book?
A: The two series I’ve worked on most recently… I wanted titles that link to Bible verses that are the theme of the story. Sown In Peace is my most current, having released August 27th this year. I named the entire series – Operation Return To Peace and it has to do with wounded warriors. Sown In Peace is book one of the series and that title came from the verse in James.

5. What are you working on for 2021
A: I will be changing the very beginning of my Kept For Her story which is book two of the Intended For Her Series. Once I get that Prologue or Chapter One rewritten to my satisfaction, I’ll be going through an entire self-edit of the novel, before sending it to my editor for in-depth scrutiny.

6. How long have you been writing?
A: Since I was in the 8th grade when a teacher graded a short story and told me I should do all I

could learn the art of creative writing. I allowed a lot of LIFE to distract and disrupt the writing flow and career, but God kept drawing me back to the Calling He gave me to write stories He gave me.

7.What advice would you give other authors?
A: NEVER QUIT – NEVER GIVE UP – If you have a story inside, work to create it, and DO NOT RUSH THE PROCESS – ENJOY THE JOURNEY – Learn all you can along the way. Do NOT be too proud to ask questions or seek help.

8. Where can people find you online?
      A:  Email       joyjournaling@gmail.com
Facebook Author Page http://facebook.com/jamauthor

9. What is your favorite coffee drink?
A: A simple French Vanilla Latte – HOT with extra syrup. That serves well for an early morning drink, but I switch to Peace tea for the afternoon, then it’s water the rest of the day and evening.

10. What is your favorite coffee shop?
A: I honestly don’t have one. I do have a fave breakfast place and I love their coffee, but it’s not a special flavor. I try to get to the Colonial Kitchen in Portage, MI as often as I can to work on edits while having breakfast. COVID has kept me from being there anywhere near as often as I used to go. I miss it and the people there very much.

11. Do you plan on making a new book in the future?
A: I have at least two more books in the Operation Return To Peace Series to write, and after Kept For Her, I have at least one more novel in that series, titled, Promised For Her. I also have a bed & breakfast series started with one book completed in that one, called Redefined with possibly two or more yet to write for that. So, the shorter answer is, yes. I do.

12. How many books have you written?
A: I have written a total of five novels to date – with a sixth underway.

13. Did you go to college to be a writer?
A: I did take college courses to help with my writing, but I didn’t go to earn any form of degree.

Interviewing Author Grahame Peace Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read? A. I’m 61 years of age and was born in the Northern Textile Town of Huddersfield in England where I still live with my partner. I like many genres of books, but I don’t like anything too dark; before I retired I worked for many years in Mental Health Services in the UK, so I had more than my fill of ‘life’, and the ups and downs it can throw at people. So, I tend to go for books that offer escapism, I also like history, autobiographies, and biographies. At the moment I’m enjoying the fictional book ‘The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates. I say I’m retired, but I now consider myself to be an author, I treat it as a full-time job, working on my books for several hours most days. Q2. when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I retired from my job with the National Health Service in the UK nearly five years ago now; I’d already started my first book by th

Interview Author Gabriella Messina Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read?  A.  I’ve found that, as I continue to grow as a writer, I’ve grown more selective as a reader. I tend to choose books from the same genres that I write… mysteries, historical fiction, fantasy… and I gravitate back to older books more than newer. I like stories that move at a good, steady pace, almost like a well-made film; that isn’t preachy, but still, give you something to think about; and that have well-developed characters that act like real people.  Q2.when did you decide you were going to write a book? I’d been  A.writing screenplays since the early 2000s and I’d gotten some notice for them, but getting into that industry is notoriously difficult and expensive. Then I learned about the rise of indie publishing, KDP and such, and decided to try adapting the stories into novels. Q3. How did you come up with the name of your books?  A. Poetry, songs,

Beaches i have been to and what i found and saw on the beach!
