Interviewing Author M. ANN MACHEN PRITCHARD

1. Tell me about yourself?
My name is M. Ann Pritchard aka M. Ann Machen Pritchard. I grew up in East Tennessee in the town of Elizabethton. I am proud to be from a talented family of 16 children. Family means a lot to me, especially, researching family history.  I not only write books, I also write songs.  One of my songs, entitled 'Drugs and Alcohol' is in several online music stores around the world. I am an Award-Winning Author, Illustrator, Songwriter (BMI), and Actress. I am proud to be a winner of One of the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading. I have done Acting for most of my life since high school days in the theater on Stage but when I moved to Minneapolis, MN I have done Acting in films and was able to accomplish my life dream of being a Published Author. I love writing books to help encourage children to learn how to read, get a good education, learn positive communication skills, and to help bring families closer together. I also have a small business, MAMP Creations that have merchandise with positive messages to help change the world.
2.What are your favorite books to read?
I like to read books about true stories or based on true stories. The book that I am currently reading is, Return To Eden by Tucker Smallwood.

3. When did you decide you were going to write a book?
When I was 12 years old I told myself that I wanted to be a writer of my own books. But I did not write my first Published book until I was 50 years old.

4. How did you come up with the name of your book?
I came up with the name of my second book, Val's World Featuring The Family Unity Roundtable when I did a test on how children think and what do they want to talk about. So I found out that there is a need to help families learn more about how to communicate with each other to help bring families closer together. So I took one of the characters from my first book, Phil the Pill and Friends Making Positive Choices named Val to create my second book because Val likes to help others. So I thought why not have her introduce the family unity roundtable.

5. What are you working on for 2021
I am working on releasing more of my music and finishing my new book entitled, The Spirit of Sixteen.

6. How long have you been writing?
For many years since I was a teenager, but I have been publishing some of my work for the past 15 years.

7.What advice would you give other authors?
Don't give up and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Create an awesome book cover for your book. Write the best story that you can. Have patience. Get a good Editor. Work with your Editor as a Team because it takes both of you to make the book be the way that you want it to be. Create a great Press Release for your book. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask someone. And if you don't get your answer to remember that you can always Google it, lol.  Also, it is good to join an Author group to Network. Remember that it doesn't matter if you go through a publisher or if you go through the Self-Publishing route you still have to help to market your book.

8. Where can people find you online?
MAMP Creations website: www.mampcreations.com

9. What is your favorite coffee drink?
Hazelnut coffee with sugar and cream.

10. What is your favorite coffee shop?
I like Starbucks, but most of the time I make coffee at home.

11. Do you plan on making a new book in the future?
Yes.

12. How many books have you written?
I am currently writing my sixth book and I have published two of them so far.

13. Did you go to college to be a writer?
No.
