Amy Jewell Author

Q1. Please tell me more about yourself?

A. My name is Amy Jewell and I am a contemporary romance author based in Northern Ireland.

Outside of my writing life, I work a part-time job and most of my time is spent with family.

I've jumped around with careers until settling in a finance-related role, which I have now worked in for over 10 years. My previous life experiences have taught me a lot about myself and provided inspiration for my writing.

Q2. What are your favorite books to read?

A. At the end of 2019, I discovered Ivy Smoak. I started off reading Temptation, the first of the Hunted Series. Never have I ever read a whole book in a day, until I started that one; she certainly had me hooked with her ability to capture characters and plots that sucked you into their world. It pulled me out of a reading slump.

When not reading romance, sometimes I give myself a break and read Jo Nesbo.

Q3. Do you like coffee or tea?

A. Tea; I can't stand the taste of coffee.

Q4. How many books have you written?

A. One completed and nearly ready for publication. It's an office-based romance. There are some heated tension moments, but it is clean office romance rather than steamy.

I have a second manuscript which I have completed the first draft and the next stage is editing.

Q5. Do you have a favorite bookstore?

A. I have a Kindle e-reader so most books I read are through Kindle Unlimited or buy through Amazon. Otherwise, I like looking in charity shops for books or borrowing through the library.

Q6. Did you go to college for writing?

A. No, I have no official qualification for writing fiction.

Q7. Growing up What were your favorite books to read?

A. As a child, I loved Roald Dahl's books, and as a teenager, my favorites were the Heartland series by Lauren Brooke.

Q8. How did you get inspired to write a book?

A. It all started by accident. I'd been having such a vivid dream that I tried writing it down to get it out of my head. The words kept coming and plot points continued to develop. A year later, I had enough words down for it to qualify as a novel. Writing has become a newfound passion.

Q9. What hobbies do you have?

A. When I take the time for other hobbies, I can be found baking cakes, sewing, binging TV series, and of course, reading.
Q10. Do you have a favorite coffee shop?

A. Not particularly, although when shopping in a particular town I tend to navigate to the same cafes for lunch or a tea break.

Q11. Where can people find you online?

A. In terms of social media, I can be found on Facebook or Twitter.

I also have my own website where fellow writers can submit author interviews or a request for a guest spot. I have blog posts on my writing journey, and readers can learn a little more about me. At present, I do not have a newsletter subscription, but this is something I am working on and hope to have available soon.

Interviewing Author Shannon Taylor Vannatter Q1. Tell us about yourself. What are your favorite books to read? A. I started reading clean romance when I was fourteen. I married my high school sweetheart and worked as a hairdresser for ten years. Once insurance became important, I went to work at a bank and the corporate offices of a large fragrance company. After our son was born, I became a stay at home mom. I love reading Christian Contemporary Romance. Q2. Where did the inspiration to write come from? A. There came a time when I couldn’t find anything clean anymore when I was in my early thirties, so I decided to write what I wanted to read. My characters kept praying and talking to God and I realized I was writing Christian romance instead of merely clean. It took me nine and a half years to get published. Q3. How did you come up with the titles of your books? A. I start with a working title that fits the theme of the book. Sometimes, I change it as

Interviewing Author Grahame Peace Q1. Tell me about yourself what are your favorite books to read? A. I’m 61 years of age and was born in the Northern Textile Town of Huddersfield in England where I still live with my partner. I like many genres of books, but I don’t like anything too dark; before I retired I worked for many years in Mental Health Services in the UK, so I had more than my fill of ‘life’, and the ups and downs it can throw at people. So, I tend to go for books that offer escapism, I also like history, autobiographies, and biographies. At the moment I’m enjoying the fictional book ‘The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates. I say I’m retired, but I now consider myself to be an author, I treat it as a full-time job, working on my books for several hours most days. Q2. when did you decide you were going to write a book? A. I retired from my job with the National Health Service in the UK nearly five years ago now; I’d already started my first book by th

I tend to choose books from the same genres that I write… mysteries, historical fiction, fantasy… and I gravitate back to older books more than newer. I like stories that move at a good, steady pace, almost like a well-made film; that isn’t preachy, but still, give you something to think about; and that have well-developed characters that act like real people.  Q2.when did you decide you were going to write a book? I’d been  A.writing screenplays since the early 2000s and I’d gotten some notice for them, but getting into that industry is notoriously difficult and expensive. Then I learned about the rise of indie publishing, KDP and such, and decided to try adapting the stories into novels. Q3. How did you come up with the name of your books?  A. Poetry, songs,
